Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: the motivation for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, while you mention being a history student, you could have elaborated on how this specifically benefits the museum. The availability section is clear, though the transition to the post-semester schedule is slightly confusing. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but more specific detail would elevate the response to a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'Finally' to link ideas. While these are functional, they are somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Paragraphing is used correctly to separate the different requirements of the task. The progression of ideas is easy to follow, though the connection between the final sentences regarding availability could be smoother to avoid ambiguity.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'credentials', 'bilingual ability', and 'productive'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'interest for the post' (should be 'interest in the post') and 'guide the tourist who will visiting' (should be 'who will be visiting'). You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, but the precision is occasionally lacking. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I can speak more than one languages' (should be 'language'), 'deal many situations' (should be 'deal with'), and 'if you would allowed' (should be 'if you would allow'). These errors are frequent but do not impede the overall communication of your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs and prepositions.
