A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter

• explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
• describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
• give details of when you would be available for work

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my interest to become a volunteer at the museum this summer. I am a student of History major and during the summer holidays I would like to work and learn more about some ancient monuments and manuscripts.

One of the main reasons I would like to do voluntary work at the museum is because I have always visited the place since I was a child and I was fascinated by the different categories of items collected and stored under one roof. I want to give back to the community by being helpful.

Along with that, my keen interest in researching about significant historic events and the knowledge I posses could allow me to connect with other intelligent individuals. In addition, I am a well organized individual and understand the importance of preserving art.

I will be available to work from the beginning of May till the end of August till the schools resume. My accommodation is also close to the museum so I would not have any difficulty commuting to work.
