Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explained your motivation for volunteering, described your relevant skills (customer service and computer literacy), and provided your availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening and closing could be more professional. The ideas are relevant, though some parts, such as the description of your experience at 7-Eleven, could be expanded slightly to better demonstrate how those specific skills translate to a museum environment. Overall, the task is fulfilled effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor punctuation errors, such as the lack of spaces after commas and the inconsistent capitalization in the salutation. The progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the structure is appropriate for a formal letter. To reach a higher band, ensure that your paragraph transitions are more varied and that your punctuation is consistently accurate.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task. You use relevant terms like 'volunteer position', 'customer communication', and 'prompt response'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and spelling, such as 'vacancies in the in the newspaper' (repetition) and 'volunteer worker required' (should be 'volunteers required'). Additionally, 'use laptop' is a bit simplistic. To improve, try to use more precise collocations and ensure you proofread for spelling errors like 'postion' and 'any things'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'I saw a vacancies' (article error), 'every days of the week' (pluralization error), and 'if any things required' (missing verb). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and spacing. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent article usage will help improve your accuracy.
