Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: the motivation for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal application. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention your experience in customer service, you could have elaborated more on how these specific skills would benefit the museum environment. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the requirements are met, though the content remains quite basic. To improve, try to provide more specific examples of how your skills would contribute to the museum's daily operations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'Although,' and 'In addition' to link ideas. However, some of these transitions are used incorrectly or awkwardly, such as starting a sentence with 'Although' when it is not followed by a main clause, or the phrasing 'in top of that.' The flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by these mechanical errors, which prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'voluntary,' 'commute,' and 'resume.' However, there are several instances of unnatural word choice and collocation errors, such as 'practical knowledges' (knowledge is uncountable), 'unpaid workplace' (should be 'voluntary position'), and 'response me' (should be 'respond to me'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations correctly and avoiding the pluralization of uncountable nouns.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I hope you are doing good' (should be 'well'), 'a museum location is very near by my place' (should be 'the museum is near my home'), and 'I have attach my resume' (should be 'I have attached'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb tense usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
