Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: the motivation for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal application. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why you want to volunteer is a bit generic, and the description of skills could be more effectively linked to the specific context of a museum environment. To improve, try to provide more specific examples of how your skills—such as your multilingualism—would specifically benefit museum visitors or operations. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of the response could be enhanced to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on one of the required points. The use of cohesive devices like 'Apart from this', 'Resultantly', and 'Eventually' helps to guide the reader through the text. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or unnatural, such as 'Eventually' used to introduce availability, which is not the standard usage of that word. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally slightly awkward, such as in the phrase 'I am writing is this letter'. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'interpersonal skills', 'bilingual', and 'pursuing studies'. There are some minor word choice errors, such as 'I am writing is this letter' and 'field job', which slightly detract from the professional tone. You also rely on some repetitive structures. To move to a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding redundant phrasing. For example, instead of 'collecting knowledge', consider 'gaining insights' or 'expanding my knowledge base'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'that will helps' (subject-verb agreement), 'I am strong candidate' (missing article), and 'I am interested to learn' (should be 'interested in learning'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to ensure your writing is more polished.
