A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter

• explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
• describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
• give details of when you would be available for work

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope you are doing well.

I, Umang Patel wanted to apply for the voluntary/unpaid position which is vacant at the Hopewell museum.

I live nearby and just saw the flyer about the unpaid vacancy. I am currently studying social science and my summer break is starting from next week. Therefore, I would appreciate if you can arrange interview ang give me a chance to contribute to our society. Moreover, I can utilize my vacation time by helping to our community through providing unpaid service.

Also, I have an extensive experience working as volunteer at Cambridge Memorial Library. Therefore, I possess some useful skills and qualities such as communication skill, critical thinking, time management and decision making, etc. Not only that, I have visited our museum so many time and I know the history and species we have in the museum.

I am available to join your team from next week on Tuesday, 2nd September, 2026 as my summer vacation is starting from that day.

I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
