A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter

• explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
• describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
• give details of when you would be available for work

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hope this finds you well. I am writing in inquire about the possibility to participate in your volunteer program at the museum. I am hoping to acquire some hours for my graduate level course that focuses on anthropology and the curation process in the museum setting. Additionally, I am to gain experience from a business component in the day to day operating a museum.

I've previously worked in different hospitality settings within the food and beverage industry as well as hotel industry. Through both of these settings, I learned how to effectively manage my time, create systems that can benefit both employees and patrons, as well as foster community through social settings.

I would be available to start as soon as possible. As my requirements for this class require me to achieve these hours before the end of the year, I am open to beginning at any time and will keep my eyes out for a response from you.
