IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter

• explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
• describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
• give details of when you would be available for work

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I want to work as a volunteer at the museum.

I saw your advertisement on radio last light about part-time voluntary work at the museum. As I done with my exams last week now I am free for two months so I want to join your team. I am leaving in the next street. I have an interest in history so this is very good opportunity for me to enhance my knowledge.

I had six months experience in customer service. So it will be easy for me to deal with the visitors. I had good communication skills as well as I know three different languages which helps me a lot to do a good job.

I am available for morning and evening shifts. You can give me any of them.

I am looking forward from hearing you soon.
