A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter

• explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
• describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
• give details of when you would be available for work

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Adam Gilbert. I saw an advertisement in the newspaper about a part-time position at your museum. I understand that it is a voluntary position and I would like to apply for this position at your prestigious institution.

The reason that I would like to apply for this role is that I am a History student and I am really interested in the historical artefacts that are there in the museum. I am especially intrigued by the weapons from the Mughal era. I think I will add a lot of value as I am very organised. Not only am I extremely efficient at computers, my data entry skills are exceptional.

If you are interested in hiring me, I can begin from 1st of October. I can work from 10 am to 2 pm. In the evening, I have some classes, so it will be impossible for me to work after 2 pm.

I am really eager to work at the museum. I am looking forward to a positive response.
