A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter

• explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
• describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
• give details of when you would be available for work

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in doing part-time voluntary work at the museum. I have a bachelor's degree in history and would like to share my knowledge with the community. I would also appreciate the opportunity to see historical objects that I have previously studied in books.

Currently, I work as a history professor at a university. Therefore, I am comfortable speaking to groups of people and participating in different activities. In addition, my teaching experience has helped me become patient and approachable, which would be useful when assisting visitors who need additional explanations.

As I work full-time at the university, I am available on weekends from 9 a.m. until the museum closes. If necessary, I could also take some time off during the week to provide additional support when another volunteer or employee is unavailable.
