Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for volunteering, skills/qualities, and availability. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. The points are mentioned but not sufficiently expanded upon to meet the requirements of a formal application. For instance, the explanation of why you want to volunteer is quite brief and repetitive. To improve, you should provide more specific details about your interest in the museum's exhibits or history and elaborate on how your skills would specifically benefit their operations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter follows a basic structure with an opening and closing. Paragraphing is attempted, but the paragraphs are very short and lack internal cohesion. The use of linking words is limited and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'voluntary work' is used repeatedly). The progression of ideas is clear, but the lack of cohesive devices makes the writing feel disjointed. To improve, use a wider variety of transition words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your sentences and ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'voluntary work' and 'unpaid work' are used multiple times, which restricts the range. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'provide me happiness' and 'your this unpaid projects'. The word choice is functional but lacks the precision and variety expected for a higher band score. You should aim to use more sophisticated synonyms and ensure that your word choices are grammatically correct in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'interest to participate' (should be 'interest in participating'), 'I have a good communication skill' (should be 'good communication skills'), and 'is require' (should be 'is required'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors and the lack of structural variety limit the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and using more complex sentence structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences.
