Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained your motivation for volunteering, highlighted relevant experience from your internship, and provided specific details regarding your availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter of application. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly on how your specific skills, such as your customer service background, would directly benefit the museum's daily operations. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets all the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each requirement, and a formal closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Regarding' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally slightly mechanical. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the progression between sentences is smoother. For example, the transition between your interest in history and your desire to gain experience could be more tightly linked to show a clear cause-and-effect relationship.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'contribute', 'diverse backgrounds', and 'flexible'. There are some minor word choice errors, such as 'In my believe' (should be 'In my belief' or 'I believe') and 'seeking for' (the verb 'seek' does not require 'for'). While you successfully communicate your message, the vocabulary is somewhat functional. Incorporating more precise collocations or topic-specific terminology related to museum work would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'I am writing apply' (missing 'to'), 'i would' (the pronoun 'I' must always be capitalized), and 'Looking forward for' (should be 'to'). Additionally, there are minor errors with articles and prepositions, such as 'in art shop' (should be 'in an art shop'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and capitalization.
