Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: explaining your motivation, describing your skills, and stating your availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening 'Hello Sir' is slightly informal compared to the requested 'Dear Sir or Madam'. The ideas are relevant, but the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the description of your skills could be more specific to how they would benefit the museum's daily operations. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the task. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For example, the transition 'As i said earlier' is a bit repetitive, and some sentences feel disconnected due to a lack of varied linking words. Paragraphing is used correctly, which helps the reader follow your argument, but more sophisticated transitions would improve the flow between sentences and ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly. You use topic-specific terms like 'artifacts', 'graduation', and 'semester break'. However, there are several spelling errors ('regrading', 'Histroy', 'hand-on') and some awkward phrasing, such as 'I will off form my college'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To reach a higher band, you should focus on more precise word choices and ensure accurate spelling of common academic and professional terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and prepositions (e.g., 'I will looking ahead', 'what kind of tools and weapons they [have]'). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your intent, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy of the writing. Focusing on proofreading for basic tense consistency would significantly improve your score.
