Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: the motivation for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal application. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention your experience in museum management, you could have elaborated more on specific achievements or projects to make your application more persuasive. The structure is clear, and the purpose of the letter is immediately apparent to the reader. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with more specific detail to fully demonstrate your suitability for the role.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the task. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is slightly awkward, such as 'These museum' (which should be 'This museum'). While the paragraphing is appropriate, a more varied use of linking words and phrases would help to improve the flow and connectivity between sentences, moving the response toward a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'residence', 'interpersonal skills', and 'operations'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'crowd controlling' (should be 'crowd control'), 'habitual of early waking up' (should be 'accustomed to waking up early'), and 'house stuff' (which is too informal for a formal letter). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated professional terminology would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Examples include 'I have a four years of experience' (should be 'four years of experience'), 'These museum is' (should be 'This museum is'), and 'Punctual on job' (should be 'I am punctual'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
