IELTS Writing Task 1 question
A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter
- explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
- describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
- give details of when you would be available for work

Dear Sir,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing formally to apply for the part-time volunteer work at your museum. I have seen an advertisement on the museum main entrance on my way back to home. I am a student of Archeology and will complete my degree next year. Moreover, I am not occupied in the afternoon because I have just taken my 6th semester exams. In addition, I am looking to do internship which will be helpful for my degree and it would be beneficial for me to volunteer at the museum. As i live near the museum so I will not need any transport to reach there.
As an archeology student I know how to look after ancient things and read the official documents related to history. Moreover, I am very punctual and organized person I can help you to manage and organize the record. I can also help the visitors to show the museum and can tell them about the artifacts.
Nowadays, I don't have any engagements so I can join you immediately. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
