Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requirements: you explain that you want to use your holiday productively and develop your knowledge of history, describe relevant knowledge and interpersonal qualities, and state when you could begin. The application’s purpose is clear, and the historical interest is a relevant reason for applying. However, some points are less fully developed: for example, you say you can answer visitors’ questions and educate them, but do not give a specific example of experience or explain how you would support museum activities. Availability is also somewhat unclear because you say the holiday starts in a week but that you want to start in two weeks, without specifying days or hours. Adding those details and extending one or two supporting points would make the application more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the application, gives reasons and relevant qualities, explains availability, and closes politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these functions, and links such as “which is why” and “also” make relationships between ideas understandable. At times, however, the connections feel mechanical or the information is repeated. The holiday starting in a week is mentioned in both the reason paragraph and the availability paragraph, while the transition from historical knowledge to teamwork is abrupt. The final availability sentence is also crowded with several ideas. Organise each paragraph around one clear purpose, avoid repeating background information, and use clearer transitions between your knowledge and personal qualities.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “voluntarily,” “major in History,” “visitors,” and “team player,” so the reader can understand your interests and strengths. There are also attempts at more formal or less common wording, such as “profound knowledge” and “foster development,” but some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural in this context. “I came by information” and “I will like to apply for it” are not idiomatic, while “rapour” appears to be a misspelling of “rapport.” “Goood” is also misspelled, and “historical findings” is less natural than a phrase referring to exhibits or artefacts. Aim for precise, conventional application-letter collocations and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause with “which is why” and a sentence explaining how your studies relate to the role. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “i can answers” should use the base verb after “can,” and “i would like to start work in 2 weeks time so i have time rest” needs a clearer clause structure and an infinitive after “time.” Capitalisation of “I” is inconsistent, and the apostrophe in “would'nt” is incorrect. The sentence beginning “My holiday starts in a week” also combines several ideas without clear punctuation. Review modal verb patterns, infinitives, capitalisation, and sentence boundaries to improve accuracy.
