Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you explain that museum work would help you learn about running one, identify communication, teamwork and working under pressure as useful qualities, and state that you could begin on 1 November after your exams end on 24 October. These details make the application relevant and your purpose is clear. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The reason for applying focuses mainly on your personal dream; you could also explain what interests you about this particular museum or how you hope to contribute to visitors’ experience. Your skills are listed, but a brief example of using them would make the application more convincing. Overall, the key information is present, though some ideas need clearer support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall sequence: you introduce your application, explain your motivation, describe relevant qualities, and then give your availability. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “Over the years” and “Currently” guide the reader through the information. This coherent arrangement meets the task well. To make the progression more polished, reduce repeated framing such as “I am writing this letter” and “In other words,” which adds little connection between ideas. The final availability paragraph also contains several points joined together, so separating the exam date, preferred start date and reason for that date would improve clarity. The closing is appropriate, although the transition into it could be smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for an application, including “vacancy,” “communication skill,” “work under pressure,” “team spirit” and “productivity.” This gives you enough language to convey the main points. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “museun,” “voluntarilly,” “mesuem,” “knowldge” and “costomer.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “Owning a museum has always been my dream” does not clearly explain why you want to volunteer there, and “offer my services to the customer” is awkward in this context. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “support museum visitors” and “gain insight into museum operations,” and proofread carefully for spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, for example, “working for you will be an avenue to improve…” and the sentence explaining that your exams end on 24 October. The main message remains understandable, and some sentences are controlled. There are, however, some grammatical errors that reduce accuracy. In “good communication skill that can help me be offer my services,” the verb pattern is incorrect; write “a good communication skill that would help me offer my services.” “Currently am taking my final exam” needs a subject (“I am currently taking…”), and “I look forward for you consideration” needs the pattern “look forward to your consideration.” Check sentence boundaries and capitalisation too, particularly the lowercase “this” after a full stop.
