Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You give relevant reasons for applying, including wanting to improve the museum for the local community and helping visitors as a guide. You also mention useful qualities, such as a sense of humour and knowledge of several languages. However, the response does not fully address the task: it gives no information about when you are available, and the application itself is not clearly stated. The ideas are brief and sometimes difficult to interpret, such as the point about cleaning and maintenance benefiting the neighbourhood. The response is also 13 words below the required minimum. To strengthen it, clearly apply for the role, explain your motivation in a little more detail, and state specific days or hours when you can work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic sequence from explaining your interest to describing qualities that could help you guide visitors, so the reader can identify the main topics. However, the letter is presented as one continuous block, and the links between ideas are often unclear. For example, the move from the museum’s cleaning and maintenance to becoming a guide is abrupt. Connect each point more clearly and use separate paragraphs for your reason for applying, relevant skills, and availability. Some linking phrases, such as “So” and “also,” are repeated or used where the relationship between ideas is not clear. A conventional closing and a direct request for consideration would also help the letter feel complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “voluntary,” “guide,” “communication skills,” and “opportunity,” and you try to explain benefits for the local community. However, frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make several parts difficult to understand, including “pumplalte,” “mentence,” “visinity,” and “commnication.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “great command on many languages” and “enhance my knowledge.” Use more accurate, natural expressions such as “a poster advertising volunteer positions,” “maintenance,” “the local community,” and “a good command of several languages.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard collocations would make your meaning clearer and more appropriate for a formal application.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “I am so glad to tell you” and the sentence beginning “There are a lot reasons…”. However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, articles, and punctuation make the letter difficult to follow. “I hope you doing well” needs an auxiliary verb, while “I was going market yesterday” is missing a preposition and article. The long sentence beginning “There are…” contains an unclear conditional structure and should be divided into shorter sentences. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “You” and “I Have.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns before adding longer clauses.
