Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you explain that you want experience and knowledge, list relevant qualities, and state that evenings suit you and that you could start soon. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the closing asks about the next steps. This meets the task well, though some points are less fully developed than others. For example, “keen interest in this field” is not connected to a particular museum activity, and the skills are listed without showing how they would help visitors or staff. “Evening” availability is also quite general. To strengthen the application, give a specific example of your interest or experience and clarify which evenings or days you can work.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter follows a generally sensible order: application and motivation, skills and availability, then a request for further information. The opening and closing also make the purpose and tone recognisable as a formal letter. However, most of the content is placed in one long paragraph, so the reader has to work through several different points without clear visual breaks. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “Along with this” help connect ideas, but their use feels mechanical, and the repeated “because” makes the progression less smooth. Separate your motivation, relevant qualities, and availability into clear paragraphs, and use more direct transitions so each point leads naturally to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to an application, including “voluntary work,” “communication,” “time management,” and “team work,” so the main meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “express my interest” and “further steps.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations sound unnatural, including “make my future in same skill,” “attention on unpaid work,” and “fruitful in my future.” These reduce precision and make parts of the letter harder to follow. Aim for natural collocations and more specific vocabulary about museum work, such as assisting visitors, organising displays, or supporting events.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses with “because” and “which,” and the reader can usually understand your main message. However, the longer structures are often not controlled accurately, and errors occur in articles, verb patterns, agreement, and punctuation. For example, “I want to unpaid work” needs a different verb pattern, while “which will more useful” is missing a verb. “I would appreciate for your further response” also has an incorrect grammatical construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “i” and “As.” To improve, practise accurate application phrases and check each sentence for a complete verb, correct articles, and appropriate punctuation.
