Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requirements: you explain your interest in the museum, describe relevant experience and qualities, and give clear availability. The retail example—assisting customers, answering questions and resolving issues—supports your claim that you have useful communication and service skills. Your interest in history and wish to help visitors also make your motivation clear. The response maintains an appropriate application-letter purpose and closes politely. To strengthen the content further, connect your skills more specifically to museum duties, such as welcoming visitors or explaining exhibits, and develop how your interest in history would benefit the museum. This would make the supporting ideas more fully developed rather than relying on general statements about improving your knowledge.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: you introduce your application and experience, explain your availability, give your motivation, and finish with a courteous request. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish these points, and phrases such as “Regarding my availability” and “I want to join this work because” signal the topic changes effectively. The overall organisation is easy to follow. Some links between ideas could be smoother: the sentence about being “reliable and young enough” follows the retail example without explaining how these qualities relate to working with a team. You could also connect your interest in history more directly to helping visitors. More precise transitions and references would make the progression feel less like a list of separate points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for an application, including “volunteer work,” “customer service,” “reliable,” “available,” and “additional shifts.” These choices make the purpose and practical details clear. However, the range is limited, and several word-choice, spelling, or collocation problems reduce naturalness: “gether information” appears to mean “gather information,” “greatful” should be “grateful,” and “a strong communication … skills” is not a natural phrase. “Young enough to able to do this work” is also awkwardly expressed. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “strong communication skills” and “work as part of a team.” A wider set of museum-related terms would also help you describe your suitability more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple and longer sentence forms, including a relative clause in “where I assist consumers” and a reason clause beginning “because.” The main message remains understandable, but errors occur in basic structures and in attempts to combine ideas. For example, “I have a strong communication … skills” has an agreement and article problem, while “young enough to able to do this work” is missing “be.” In “I can work extra hours during my vacation time also I would be happy,” two independent clauses are joined without suitable punctuation or a conjunction. There are also inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation choices. Practise checking agreement, infinitive patterns, and sentence boundaries, while retaining the longer structures you attempt.
