Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the question and gives a clear overall direction: it identifies effects related to work or study and family conflict, then proposes meditation and reducing caffeine. However, the effects of sleep loss are not always explained precisely. For example, the exam-stress example describes a cause of poor sleep rather than a problem caused by it, and the conclusion introduces headache and weight loss without developing them in the body. The proposed solutions are relevant, but the explanation that reducing caffeine makes people more active and leads them to exercise is not clearly connected to improving sleep. Develop each point with a direct cause-and-effect explanation and support it consistently with examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for problems and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main sections. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but some links between them are unclear or mechanical. For instance, “As a result” introduces family disputes after a sentence about disturbed mental health, leaving the relationship between these ideas uncertain. The caffeine paragraph also moves from restriction to exercise without explaining the connection. Use referencing that clearly identifies what “this” or “these issues” refers to, and add transitions that show the actual relationship between each cause, effect, and solution.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main topic, with relevant terms such as “stress,” “anxiety,” “meditation,” and “caffeine consumption.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “suffer from job or study,” “sleeping activity,” and “unsolvable situations” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “beccome,” “mant,” and “distrupted.” Build a more precise set of expressions for sleep-related effects and remedies, and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural combinations such as “struggle at work or school” and “ongoing family conflict.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response uses some simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect clauses with “because” and “as a result,” and most of the overall meaning can be followed. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, and articles. Examples include “This situations lead,” “person will suffer,” “his mental health get disturbed,” and “my elder brother facing such problem.” The sentence about the brother also shifts awkwardly between past and present forms: “he seen changes in his sleep he get nice deep sleep.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete verb phrases, then use full stops or conjunctions to separate clauses. More reliable control of these basics would make the ideas clearer.
