Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the prompt by discussing possible effects of poor sleep and suggesting self-awareness, meditation and yoga. The link between anxiety and reduced sleep is relevant, and you mention consequences such as reduced productivity and low energy. However, the response only partially develops the task: it focuses mainly on anxiety as a cause of sleep loss, rather than clearly explaining a range of problems that lack of sleep itself can cause. The proposed solutions are also general; for example, explain how meditation or changes to daily routines improve sleep, and give a specific example. A clearer, more direct position and fuller explanation of each main idea would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for problems and solutions, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the essay. Some progression is less clear within paragraphs, however. The first body paragraph moves from anxiety to a survey and then to workplace effects without clearly distinguishing causes from consequences. The conclusion introduces the broad idea of understanding the body but does not clearly summarise the specific points made. Linking phrases such as “In other words” and “As a result” are used, but connections between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main point and use explicit references to show how each supporting detail relates to it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “lack of sleep,” “anxiety,” “productive,” “self awareness,” and “meditation.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited, and repeated or imprecise wording sometimes makes meaning difficult to follow. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “Deprition,” “axinity,” “sutiation,” and “diffrent,” as well as awkward expressions such as “small sleep circle” and “low my mind’s vibrations.” These are lexical issues rather than grammar problems. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “shorter sleep duration” and “reduce stress” to express your intended ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the essay’s main ideas can generally be understood. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “It lead to us in…” has an incorrect verb form and sentence pattern, while “When we know that we have different role to play…” is a dependent clause presented without a complete main clause. There are also problems with agreement and articles, as in “Meditation and yoga helps” and “a university with 100 people group.” Punctuation is inconsistent, including spaces before full stops. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
