Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt (problems and solutions), but the development is limited and often repetitive. The ideas are presented in a list-like fashion without sufficient elaboration or logical flow. For example, the mention of 'blood pressure' and 'immune system' is brief and lacks explanation. Furthermore, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. To improve, you should expand on your points with specific examples or explanations to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect, such as 'moving further more' and 'to commence'. There is a lack of clear transition between ideas, making the text feel disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall structure lacks the sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words correctly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, central topic sentence that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic words like 'complain', 'problem', and 'good/bad'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'doing the complain' instead of 'complaining' and 'week' instead of 'weak'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations related to health and lifestyle, and try to use more precise synonyms to avoid repeating the same basic terms throughout your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some people are sleep'), article usage, and sentence structure. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with little attempt at complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of full stops and capital letters. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralisation, before attempting more complex structures.
