Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of these ideas is limited. While you mention issues like 'obesity' and 'depression', these are not expanded upon with sufficient detail or examples. Similarly, the solutions (yoga, meditation, reducing gadget use) are mentioned but lack depth. The position is clear, but the overall argument feels somewhat superficial. To improve, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear explanation or a relevant example to demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward use of 'Yet' at the start of a sentence or the disjointed transition 'But also some students'. Some sentences are fragmented or lack logical flow, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between working shifts and electronic gadgets is unclear. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'problem to get fulfill nap' instead of 'difficulty getting sufficient sleep' and 'over uses of electronics gadgets'. Some words are misspelled or used incorrectly, such as 'pridomidently' and 'Consewuently'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and expanding your range of vocabulary to express complex ideas more accurately, while also paying closer attention to spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of individuals express'), incorrect article usage, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'Which cannot manage the time table also a reason lack of sleep'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tenses and pluralization. Increasing the accuracy of your complex sentences will also help improve your score.
