Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of these ideas is limited. While you mention stress and health issues, the explanations are brief and lack depth. The solutions provided, such as limiting social media and spending time with family, are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or logical reasoning. The introduction is somewhat confusing due to grammatical errors, which makes the initial position unclear. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea supported by a clear example or explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical issues. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas feels disjointed. To improve, focus on using linking words more naturally and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'taken lack of sleep' instead of 'experiencing a lack of sleep' and 'agility' used incorrectly (likely intending 'anxiety'). Some words are misspelled, such as 'multipule' and 'avery'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the reliance on basic vocabulary prevent a higher score. To improve, try to learn collocations related to health and lifestyle, and focus on using more precise terminology to express your ideas clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede the flow of reading. There are significant issues with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and word order (e.g., 'many person lack of sleep in these days'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb tenses.
