Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the impact of screen time and irregular work schedules, and the solutions provided are practical. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that lack of sleep causes problems, you do not explicitly detail the specific health or cognitive consequences (e.g., reduced productivity, health risks) beyond the general mention of stress. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with clear explanations or more detailed examples to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' to signal transitions between ideas. However, the use of these devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, 'which results into lack of sleep' is a bit vague. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better referencing to create a more natural, cohesive progression of thought.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'insomnia', 'plethora', and 'conflicting'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'continuously attention to screens' (should be 'continuous attention'), 'results into' (should be 'results in'), and 'awakes body' (should be 'keeps the body awake'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic or topic-specific collocations would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'individuals nowadays uses' (subject-verb agreement), 'working at restaurant' (missing article), and 'people need to meditation' (should be 'need to do meditation'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some missing articles and preposition errors. While the meaning is always clear, the frequency of these minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve your accuracy.
