Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as physical/mental stress and the use of exercise or meditation. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the impact of sleep deprivation on work performance is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples. The position is clear throughout, but the essay would benefit from more depth in the explanation of the consequences and the practical application of the suggested solutions to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'On the other hand,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are repetitive or slightly mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'Therefore' to start sentences. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'doing yoga keeps people calm and breathing also improves an individual's health,' where the connection between the two clauses could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'hectic' and 'livelihood.' However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'sacrifice with their health' (should be 'sacrifice their health'), 'results into' (should be 'results in'), and 'less focused at their work' (should be 'less focused at work'). These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions. Examples include 'By doing exercise and daily yoga can result into' (grammatically incorrect structure), 'it could results into' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'there is nothing important that own's health' (incorrect phrasing). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalization of 'Many' in the middle of a sentence. These errors occur frequently, though they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended message.
