Task 2
Chronic sleep deprivation has become increasingly prevalent, adversely affecting both physical health and cognitive performance. In this contemporary era, obtaining sufficient sleep has become a challenge; as a result, a significant proportion of society express concern about this problem. This essay will examine both the causes and effective strategies for addressing this issue.
The most prominent factor contributing to this problem is the hectic lifestyles experienced by many individuals. To elaborate, people often work long hours or struggle to maintain a healthy work-life balance. For instance, many employees work overtime to earn money and cover their expenses. Consequently, they are deprived of sufficient sleep. Moreover, another reason for inadequate sleep is the excessive use of electronic devices. Many individuals spend several hours using smartphones, laptops or watching television before bedtime. To illustrate, people who use social media late at night often struggle to fall asleep on time because the blue light emitted from screens disturbs the natural sleep cycle. Therefore, they expencountered reduced sleep duration and poor sleep quality.
A practical approach to resolving this issue is to maintain a proper balance between work and life.
To expand on, working people should need to manage their schedules effeciently and avoid working excessive long hours. To exemplify, employees can set clear boundaries between their professional and personal lives by taking regular breaks and following fixed working hours. Furthermore, it is essential necessary for everyone to avoid using electronic gadgets at least one hour before sleep. Apart from that, physical activities such as meditation, yoga and walking are some helpful elements that would not only improve sleep but also boosts mental health.
To recapitulate, ongoing sleep deprivation is a growing concern primarily caused by demanding lifestyles and overuse of electronic devices. Nevertheless, this issue can be mitigated by maintaining a balanced routine, adopting healthier digital habits and by doing following a consistent exercise routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt, identifying both the causes of sleep deprivation (hectic lifestyles and electronic device usage) and potential solutions (work-life balance and digital hygiene). The ideas are relevant and logically extended with examples, such as the mention of blue light and specific stress-relieving activities like yoga. The position is clear throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that the 'problems' caused by lack of sleep are explored with slightly more depth, as the current focus is heavily weighted toward the causes and solutions rather than the consequences of sleep deprivation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0
The essay is well-organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use a range of cohesive devices effectively, such as 'To elaborate,' 'Consequently,' 'Moreover,' and 'To recapitulate,' which help guide the reader through your arguments. Paragraphing is logical, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct aspect of the prompt. The progression of ideas is smooth, and the relationship between the causes and the proposed solutions is clearly established. The structure is coherent and easy to follow throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.5
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary appropriate for the task, using terms like 'chronic sleep deprivation,' 'prevalent,' 'cognitive performance,' and 'mitigated.' There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'expencountered' (a typo) and 'should need to,' which is redundant. However, these errors do not impede communication. You show an ability to use less common vocabulary, which adds precision to your writing. Focusing on refining these small inaccuracies will help you move into the higher band range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. There are several error-free sentences, and your control of grammar is generally strong. However, there are a few slips, such as 'essential necessary' (a tautology) and 'by doing following,' which is grammatically awkward. Additionally, 'effeciently' is misspelled. Despite these occasional errors, the meaning is always clear, and the grammatical range is sufficient to support your arguments. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures and proofreading for minor slips will further improve your score.
