Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, in many nations, individuals are complaining about the problems they are facing related to enough sleep. In my view, excessive screentime can be the cause of this issue and this can be resolved with the combined efforts by the government and society.
To begin with, many people are living alone in metropolitan cities and they use computers at work and mobile phones during their free time which is affecting their sleep. In other words, due to excessive reflection on eyes causing health issues like fatigue and insomnia. For instance, in USA seventy five percent of individuals are suffering from this medical illness as they study and work on such gadgets. Thus, overuse of technology is also harmful on human body.
On the other hand, the government can introduce new rules on working hours and individuals can set limits to resolve sleeping issues. As a result, new rules and policies can benefit individuals if employees give an extra break during working hours so that workers can get some physical rest. Like wisely, parents should set limit of using screen devices on their child and adults can also reduce the scrolling time on internet and get at least of eight hours sleep. For example, in many neighborhoods people are doing campaigns in and distributing pamphlets to encourage people to choose healthier lifestyles. This demonstrates that these problems can be solved with some initiatives.
In conclusion, even screen devices are affecting human health, but this problem is resolvable by applying joint efforts by the rule makers and society by educating there surroundings on sleep benefits to human anatomy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the impact of technology and the role of government policy. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on health issues is brief, and the example regarding the USA lacks specific context. The solutions are mentioned but could be expanded with more depth to fully explore the 'how' and 'why'. The position is clear throughout, but the overall development of ideas remains at a general level rather than providing a more nuanced analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the final sentence where 'there surroundings' is used incorrectly. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'insomnia', 'metropolitan', and 'anatomy'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'excessive reflection on eyes' instead of 'eye strain' and 'Like wisely' instead of 'Likewise'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but the lack of precision and occasional misuse of terms prevents a higher score. Expanding the range of collocations would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles, prepositions, and word forms (e.g., 'educating there surroundings' instead of 'their surroundings', 'at least of eight hours' instead of 'at least eight hours'). Some sentences are slightly disjointed, such as 'even screen devices are affecting human health, but this problem is resolvable'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest that the student has not yet mastered complex grammatical structures.
