Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the link between 'oily food' and 'unnecessary thoughts' is a bit tenuous and lacks clear logical progression. While the solutions are relevant, they are presented in a somewhat list-like fashion. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or deeper explanations of the consequences, such as the long-term impact on cognitive function or workplace productivity, rather than focusing primarily on physical appearance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, such as the jump from discussing screen time to the example of feeling tired. Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'nutritious meals', 'hectic schedule', and 'mental wellness'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'soluton', 'nutrious', and 'qulality'. Furthermore, some phrases are slightly unnatural, such as 'physical appears' instead of 'physical appearance'. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and practice using collocations—words that naturally go together—to make your writing sound more precise and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('if person do not get', 'physical fitness lead to') and article usage. There are also punctuation errors, such as the fragmented sentence structure in the conclusion. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentences are complete and correctly punctuated.
