Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern era, people suffer from stressful and busied lifestyle. Even they don not have time to spend with family and they are suffering from less sleep circle. In my opinion, there are the serval reasons for this problems such as work load, peer pressure, higher studies and future goals. Resulting into men and women spend the half time of the day in these things rather than sleep properly.

Start with the first reason, work load is playing a crucial role in people is daily life. A person plan his whole day and night according to his work schedule. They prepare their food, clothes, family time according to office time. As a result, for maintain these all activities, they gave less time to rest on bed rather then other important events.

Moving further, competition in every industry is running too much faster either its study, business or any another part of life. People try to follow the trends of lifestyle and work with similar to their colleagues in the office, students in their school or colleges and neighbors live in their society. The peer pressure encourage people to spend more time to get more wealthy and entertainment. People choose enjoy their life in parties and clubs instead of sleep on time. Not in this but also adding some other reasons behind this is Higher studies like NEET exams, the systems who gave these exams they need more intention and more time to force on studies, they set time table accordingly and gave preference to studies not to sleep.

To conclude, everything is crucial for our life but with healthy body and lifestyle. Doctors always suggest people to sleep at least 8 hours a day for fitness and success. People needs to force on their sleep circle rather then other things because our body is always our first priority.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention work pressure and peer pressure, the discussion on the actual 'problems' caused by lack of sleep is quite limited, focusing more on the causes. To reach a higher band, you should explicitly detail the consequences of sleep deprivation (e.g., health issues, cognitive decline, or reduced productivity) and provide more concrete, well-developed solutions. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Start with the first reason' or 'Not in this but also adding some other reasons'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, making the transition between sentences feel disjointed. While there is an attempt to use linking words, they are not always used with the flexibility required for higher bands. Improving the variety and natural flow of these transitions would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'less sleep circle' instead of 'sleep deprivation' or 'sleep cycle', and 'rest on bed' instead of 'getting adequate rest'. Some phrases are repetitive, and the word choice is often simplistic. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to health and lifestyle, and try to use a wider range of vocabulary to express your ideas more accurately and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people is daily life', 'systems who gave these exams'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'busied lifestyle'), and awkward sentence construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will be essential for your progress.
