Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 181 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify relevant problems (eye strain, diet) and solutions (diet, hydration), the discussion is underdeveloped and lacks sufficient depth or specific examples to fully explore the prompt. The conclusion is also incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and ensure you provide a full, structured essay that addresses all parts of the prompt within the required length.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'However' to signal transitions, which provides a logical structure. However, the paragraphing is inconsistent, and the flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of development makes the progression of ideas feel mechanical. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph contains a fully developed main idea supported by clear evidence, leading to a cohesive and complete conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on somewhat repetitive phrasing, such as 'sleeping difficulties' and 'improper sleeping conditions'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'digital equipments' (equipment is uncountable) and 'continuosly' (spelling error). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to health and lifestyle, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and sophisticated.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Many indiviuduals complaining' (missing auxiliary verb), 'People work in information technology have' (missing relative pronoun), and 'some fast foods contains' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction. Proofreading for these common errors will significantly enhance the accuracy and readability of your work.
