Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the consequences of sleep deprivation and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as mentioning health risks like heart disease and weight issues, as well as practical solutions like meditation and limiting screen time. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation of weight issues is confusing and lacks clarity. While the position is clear, the response would benefit from more detailed examples or a more logical expansion of the points provided to reach a higher band. The structure is sufficient, but the depth of analysis is limited, which keeps this in the mid-range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices, such as 'Not only this' and 'At last'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions are awkward, such as 'This problem brings a lot of changing in the human body.' The referencing is occasionally unclear, making the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed at times. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the use of cohesive devices needs to be more flexible and natural to achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'tackle by many people' instead of 'tackled by', 'uncomplete' instead of 'incomplete', and 'get intact with' which is unclear. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple descriptors. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequent errors in word choice and the lack of sophisticated lexical items limit the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('less sleep effects person's health'), incorrect verb forms ('could not able to sleep', 'can not give their best'), and awkward sentence construction ('This problem brings a lot of changing'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the density of grammatical errors is noticeable and occasionally forces the reader to re-read to understand the intended meaning. Increasing the accuracy of basic structures and refining the use of complex sentences will be essential for improvement.
