Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the consequences of sleep deprivation and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as medical errors and road accidents, and the solutions, including public awareness and workplace policies, are logical. However, the development is somewhat brief. While the points are clear, they could be extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout, and the response covers all requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'For starters', 'Furthermore', 'In addition', and 'Moreover' are used effectively to guide the reader through the arguments. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct aspect of the prompt. The progression of ideas is smooth, and the relationship between the problems and the proposed solutions is clearly established, making the text easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally appropriate and sufficient for the task. You use some good collocations like 'nip these problems in the bud' and 'recurrent tiredness'. There are a few minor errors, such as 'qauality' (spelling) and 'quieten their mind' (which is slightly informal in this context). While you demonstrate a good range, the vocabulary is functional rather than sophisticated. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic terminology related to health and policy to elevate the tone of the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'These has led' (subject-verb agreement) and 'work involve' (should be 'involves'). Additionally, 'a sleep' is slightly unnatural; 'getting some sleep' or 'resting' would be better. Despite these errors, the meaning is never obscured, and the punctuation is generally accurate. You have a good grasp of sentence construction, but more attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage would help achieve a higher score.
