Student answer (Band 6.0)
According to the recent scenario, it is true that there is a lot of controversy among people about not getting enough sleep. There might be various problems with that, and every problem has a solution. Let's discuss the statement.
To begin with, it is beyond doubt that the lack of sleep has opened the doors to various problems. Considering the lack of sleep, being awake till late at night, and watching television can affect the sleep cycle. Moreover, working hard on a laptop, studying late at night, and not following the proper schedule all this can lead to major consequences. For instance, watching movies till late at night and getting ready for early morning can create health issues. Not to mention, an empty stomach can even affect the lack of sleep.
In terms of schedule arrangements, an individual can resolve the problem with multiple factors. The proper time management should be done for every routine work in daily life. Additionally, the screen time for work and taking a rest frequently is necessary for the human body. To mention, it is also necessary to take the perfect amount of food every day to avoid health issues. For example, sleeping at 10 and waking up at 6 in the morning and starting a day with exercise can keep a person healthy.
According to the aforementioned reasons, I opine that making the perfect day schedule, taking a proper diet, and getting good sleep makes the person perfect. So, avoiding things which affects the sleep and make the timetable for everything is the right solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention health issues and schedule management, the ideas lack depth and specific examples. For instance, you mention 'health issues' but do not elaborate on what these are (e.g., cognitive decline, weakened immune system). The position is clear, but the arguments are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully explored. To improve, aim to expand on your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims, providing more concrete evidence or logical consequences for each point raised.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Additionally'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To mention' or 'According to the recent scenario'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that subsequent sentences directly support that main idea to enhance the overall coherence of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains somewhat basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'various problems' and 'health issues' are used without much variation. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'making the perfect day schedule' and 'taking the perfect amount of food'. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise and sophisticated vocabulary. Instead of repeating 'problems' or 'issues', try using synonyms like 'detrimental effects', 'consequences', or 'complications'. Additionally, focus on using collocations that sound more natural in an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies. For example, 'all this can lead to' is slightly informal, and 'avoiding things which affects the sleep' contains a subject-verb agreement error ('affects' should be 'affect'). There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'in the morning' vs 'at morning'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures.
