Student answer (Band 6.5)
In recent years, numerous individuals have been facing challenges in getting a good sleep because of a busy schedule, work pressure, and excessive use of electronic devices. It can cause several issues related to mental and physical health. A positive attitude can address these issues.
One major consequence of sleep deprivation is reduced concentration. People use electronic devices a lot, and they also have work pressure, due to the fact that they lose their focus, which results in diseases such as stress, anxiety, and depression. They lose their confidence and feel unhealthy. To illustrate, if a person loses their concentration, it can be a cause of road accidents, and they can harm themselves on both mental and physical levels.
Although lack of sleep has many problems, it can be addressed by focusing on one's daily schedule. They should set a bedtime and turn off their electronic devices before going to bed. Another important step is excercises such as gym, yoga. Human beings can do daily exercises for a fixed time in the morning or in the evening, depending on their schedule. It will help them to be physically fit, and they will feel more confident. Moreover, they can meditate for their mental well-being, which will decrease their anxiety level and help them concentrate on their work-life balance. Companies should also help their employees, so they can find it easy to manage the work-life balance. For instance, if a company sets a working time and gives proper holidays on time to time, it will increase its employees' productivity and growth.
To conclude, Lack of sleep can create many challenges in a person's life. This can be overcome by changing their daily life schedule, and with the support of their workplaces. Individuals can grow more if they have proper relax and sleeep.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, covering mental and physical health issues like stress and reduced concentration, as well as practical solutions such as routine management and workplace support. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the link between 'electronic devices' and 'road accidents' is mentioned but not fully explained or supported with a clear logical progression. While the position is clear, the ideas could be extended further to reach a higher band. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed, but the depth of analysis is limited.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One major consequence', 'Although', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there is occasional repetition of phrasing (e.g., 'work-life balance' is used twice in close proximity). The referencing is generally clear, though the connection between sentences in the second paragraph could be smoother to improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'sleep deprivation', 'mental well-being', and 'productivity'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly unnatural word choices, such as 'proper relax and sleeep' in the conclusion, which contains a spelling error. The use of 'on time to time' is also non-idiomatic. To achieve a higher band, the student should aim for more precise collocations and a wider variety of sophisticated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist. For instance, 'excercises such as gym, yoga' lacks proper articles or verbs, and 'proper relax and sleeep' is grammatically incorrect. There are also minor punctuation and phrasing issues, such as 'on time to time' instead of 'from time to time'. While the errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band. More attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage is needed.
