Student answer (Band 6.0)
Recently is has been noticed in many cases that people are having issues with proper sleep. In my opinion there are several reasons for this like stressful life , excessive use of smart phones and social media. This essay will discuss in detail cause of this and probable solutions to cure this.
To begain with, today's world has completely changed from past. It has became more and more fast and advanced in terms of technology, not only that but also People tend to remain busy and involved in developing new skills due to immense competition. Everyone wants to be a successful and reach to upgrade their lifestyle, due to this they are living in more stress than the past. In addition to this now a days they became addicted of mobile phone and social media tremendously. For instance, I have seen lot of people remain active on social media like Instagram , Facebook where they watch and scroll reels till late night and excessive use of these applications caused dangerous side effects on their minds and as a result their sleeping cycle is getting affected.
To overcome this issue people can include meditation , yoga activity as a part of their daily routine. Along with this they should limit the use of smart phone and should spend quality time with family this will help them to lighter their mood moreover, instead of using phone they should start reading news papers ,books which will keep their mind busy and at end they will feel tired and will get enough sleep.
To conclude with people should start implementing positive changes in their daily life and minimize excessive use of technology and develop healthy healthy life style to avoid lack of sleeping problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention stress and technology as causes, the specific 'problems' caused by lack of sleep (e.g., health issues, cognitive decline, or workplace accidents) are not explicitly detailed; you only mention that the 'sleeping cycle is getting affected.' To reach a higher band, you should elaborate on the consequences of sleep deprivation rather than just the causes. The solutions provided, such as meditation and reading, are relevant and clearly presented, though they could be supported with more specific examples or explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begain with,' 'In addition to this,' and 'To conclude with' are used to signal the structure. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'To conclude with people should...' which lacks a comma. Additionally, the flow between sentences is sometimes interrupted by grammatical errors, which occasionally makes the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring correct punctuation would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'immense competition,' 'addicted,' and 'meditation.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'cure this' (referring to a lack of sleep, where 'address' or 'alleviate' would be better), 'lighter their mood' (should be 'lighten'), and 'at end' (should be 'in the end'). There is also a repetition of the word 'healthy' in the conclusion. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'Recently is has been noticed' (should be 'it has'), 'It has became' (should be 'become'), 'addicted of' (should be 'addicted to'), and 'dangerous side effects on their minds' (should be 'to their mental health'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
