Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, mostly individuals are not having proper sleep cycle due to multifarious incentives and less sleep might instil lots of health related problems in future. I will elaborate relevant reasons and solutions according to my perceptions in the upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, there are several reasons that in this modern world why people are not getting enough sleep and first is heavy work load. In order to get more money or for other financial aspects workers in big organisations are doing overtime, which surely can effect their sleep schedule. For example, hospitals in Canada Like sunnybrook health and science, workers are working for 8 to 12 hours in a day for 7 days in a week, which can cause various health difficulties for them such as, headache, muscle pain and socially inactive. Eventually, they can earn big bonus but lack of sleep can damage their mental health.
On the other hand, companies should hire more staff to divide shifts accordingly so, pressure of responsibilities can be reduced. Additionally, government should establish new rules for labour such as, students can only work limited hours in a week and senior employees can have their enough pension plans in future so they do not need to work overtime in order to save extra money. Well in my opinion these solutions can change the circumstances of not having good sleep.
To be conclude, people have their own personal reasons of not getting sleep properly, but with appropriate strategies they can manage their timetables. Also, authorities should provide extra assistance with effective legislation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention health issues like 'headache' and 'muscle pain', these points are not fully explored in terms of their long-term impact. Similarly, the solutions provided, such as hiring more staff or government legislation, are relevant but lack depth. The essay would benefit from more detailed explanations or specific examples to fully support your arguments. The position is clear, but the overall development remains at a basic level, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'Additionally' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Well in my opinion' or 'To be conclude'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is more precise. Overall, the structure is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era', 'multifarious', and 'legislation'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'instil lots of health related problems' (instead of 'cause' or 'lead to') and 'socially inactive' (which is not a standard way to describe a health symptom). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the use of 'incentives' to mean 'reasons' is incorrect in this context. Improving your grasp of collocations and word precision will help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' modern world, 'a' day), subject-verb agreement ('workers... is doing'), and verb forms ('can effect' instead of 'can affect'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in comma usage. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of complex structures will be beneficial.
