Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, covering mental health issues like stress and physical consequences such as obesity and diabetes. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of how sleep deprivation leads to obesity is brief and lacks depth. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments would benefit from more detailed examples or logical expansion to reach a higher band. The conclusion repeats the introduction rather than synthesizing the main points effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic progression of ideas from the introduction to the problems, solutions, and a summary. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To mitigate these problems', 'This issue can create'). Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'So according that people follow some remedies'. While the structure is coherent, the flow between ideas lacks the sophistication required for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'uncosiunce' (unconscious), 'Anothet' (Another), 'obseity' (obesity), 'suger' (sugar), and 'speacialisits' (specialists). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. The range of vocabulary is limited to common terms, and there is little attempt to use less common or idiomatic language. To improve, you should focus on accurate spelling and incorporating more precise academic collocations related to health and lifestyle.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'One of the most significant problem' (should be 'problems'), 'making unable to them concentrate' (word order), and 'So this is very important to resolve as soon possible' (missing 'as'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading is necessary.
