Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern world where everyone spend their most of the day time in front of screens and lights mostly face serious issues like less sleep with effect thier daily life. In this essat we will discuss the causes and some solution to get better sleep.
The first reason of less sleep time is more screen time. To elaborate it more, now days individuals spent their most of the time on mobile phones and on computers till late night which increase thier screen time and the lights from those screens at night trigger thier brain to wake up more rather then winding down for sleep. Study at england shows that the higher individuals use their devices at night later they go to bed which eventually decrease their sleep time over weeks. Moreover this can cause eye damage and felling fatugue all day.
Second reason which cause this issue is taking to much stress. To elaborate it, stress is also known as sleep killer because often in stress people keep thinking and keep their brain running all night which lead to poor sleep. A study in college students shows that near the exam time student sleep time often decline some time less then six hours of sleep due to the exam stress, which impact on their overall academic progress.
On the other hand to solve this cause there are ample of things we can do, such as not using the screen devices around the sleep time and sleeping in dim or even in dark quite room will help our brain to go in sleep mode quicker and will increase the sleep time.
Secondly for the students following proper time table and covering up their syllabus on time before exam will decrease the stress amoung youngsters.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as screen time and stress, and the solutions provided are practical. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the impact of sleep deprivation is mentioned as 'eye damage' and 'fatigue', but these points could be expanded with more depth or specific consequences. The essay maintains a clear focus throughout, but the overall development of ideas remains at a basic level, preventing it from reaching a higher band. The introduction is also quite brief and could have better outlined the scope of the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a logical flow from causes to solutions. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'The first reason', 'Second reason', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand'). While the paragraphing is appropriate, the transition between sentences within paragraphs can feel a bit disjointed. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure lacks the sophisticated linking required for higher bands. The essay is easy to follow, but the cohesion is not always smooth or varied.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'essat' for essay, 'thier' for their, 'fatugue' for fatigue, 'amoung' for among) and some awkward collocations (e.g., 'taking to much stress'). While the student uses some topic-specific vocabulary like 'academic progress' and 'screen devices', the range is limited. The errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex lexical items. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and using more precise academic collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('everyone spend', 'lights... face'), incorrect verb forms ('less sleep with effect thier daily life'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors means that the student does not demonstrate a high level of grammatical control. More complex structures are attempted, but they often contain errors, which limits the score in this criterion.
