Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention workload and gadget use as reasons, you do not explicitly detail the specific 'problems' caused by lack of sleep (e.g., health issues, reduced productivity, or mental strain) as requested by the prompt. The solutions provided are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or logical depth. To improve, ensure you explicitly answer every part of the question with clear, developed arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To sum up' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the concluding sentence is a sentence fragment ('...to ameliorate the issue' lacks a main verb). To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the overall argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors ('heaving' instead of 'having', 'cautios' instead of 'cautious', 'nowdays' instead of 'nowadays') and awkward collocations. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'facing problems' and 'proper sleep'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to health and lifestyle, and pay closer attention to spelling and word choice to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('parents should fixed') and awkward phrasing ('get jobs those people who have jobs'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage to improve your accuracy.
