Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention stress and social media as causes, the discussion on the consequences is brief, focusing mainly on 'vision loss' without exploring broader impacts like cognitive decline or productivity issues. Similarly, the solutions are somewhat generic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or deeper explanations. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis needs to be increased to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Additionally', and 'All in all' to link your points. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For instance, the transition between the causes and the solutions is functional but could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure is easy to follow, which provides a solid foundation for the reader to understand your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'indispensable', 'modernization', and 'work-life balance'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'staying discipline' instead of 'staying disciplined' and 'at the long run' instead of 'in the long run'. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the precision is not always consistent. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and incorporating a slightly wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to health and lifestyle.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'one of the most significant factor' (should be 'factors'), 'could not able to' (should be 'are not able to'), and 'This would improves' (should be 'This would improve'). Subject-verb agreement and modal verb usage are areas that require attention. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they are persistent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and verb forms will help improve your accuracy.
