Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While you identify work pressure and technology as causes, the consequences of sleep deprivation are not explicitly detailed; you focus more on the causes and solutions. To reach a higher band, ensure you clearly explain the negative impacts of sleep loss (e.g., health issues, reduced productivity) as requested by the prompt. The ideas are relevant, but the explanation of the 'consequences' is missing, which limits the depth of your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'To begin with,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'because of that they often tend to work till mead night.' Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the use of 'them' in the conclusion, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring pronouns clearly refer to the intended nouns will enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'indispensable,' 'hectic,' and 'remedies.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'getting not enough sleep' (instead of 'insufficient sleep'), 'Being addictive of smart technology' (instead of 'addicted to'), and 'digest systems' (instead of 'digestive systems'). There are also minor spelling errors like 'mead night' (midnight). To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are natural and precise in the context of the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'has become debatable topic' (missing article), 'people unable to spend time' (missing verb), and 'help to individuals to fulfil' (incorrect verb pattern). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that complex sentence structures are grammatically sound.
