Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, it is believed by many individuals that they arr going through the difficulty of getting good sleep. In this essay, I will discuss some problems along with its solution .
Why many individuals have difficulties getting enough sleep? The first and foremost reason is stress and anxiety from their work. To elaborate it, people are having good jobs and nowadays everything is rely on technology and they need to stay focused which increase their screen time and this can lead to anxiety . When they are having a lot of work to do in limited time , they get stressed and which can deprived them to getting good sleep. For example, if someone is working in big company and they are having proper work that they need to do in each day and they are unable to do in one day and they will automatically get stressed and face difficulties in sleep. Moreover, another reason would be hectic schedule. In comprehensive terms, people are having busy schedule these days and they do not care about their own . Sometime they do not have proper schedule and they will get mad on that which can also results in bad sleep.
However, to avoid stress they need to have taht amount of work that they can do easily without any stress. If they are having stress while doing work, then they will not get good sleep and which can affect their mental health too. Along with this, they need to make proper schedule for each day which can include what they are going to do in each day which can help them to feel relaxed and calm and results in good sleep.
Taking everything into consideration, it can concluded that although they are some reasons why people are facing problem in sleep , like hectic schedule and stress . Yet, solutions of having good schedule and limited work would not be neglected.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention stress and hectic schedules, the explanation of the specific 'problems' caused by lack of sleep (e.g., health issues, cognitive decline) is limited, focusing more on the causes of the sleep deprivation itself. To improve, ensure you explicitly detail the consequences of sleep loss, such as reduced productivity or physical health risks, rather than just repeating that it affects mental health. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific, well-integrated examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'In this essay', 'The first and foremost reason', 'Moreover', 'Taking everything into consideration'). Some transitions feel forced, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing. For instance, the transition from discussing work stress to the solution of 'having that amount of work' is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'getting good sleep', 'having a lot of work', and 'get mad'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'deprived them to getting' (should be 'deprived them of getting') and 'results in bad sleep' (should be 'results in poor sleep'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to health and time management, such as 'chronic sleep deprivation', 'work-life balance', or 'mitigate'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everything is rely on technology'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'they will get mad on that which can also results in bad sleep'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing before commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure and proofreading for basic agreement errors will be very beneficial.
