Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is limited. The ideas regarding 'mental stress' and 'nervous disorder' are mentioned but not sufficiently expanded upon. Furthermore, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the depth of the argument. The conclusion is somewhat repetitive, and the final sentence is incomplete ('give power to fi'), which indicates a failure to fully develop the response. To improve, you should provide more specific examples and ensure each point is fully explained with a clear logical flow.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'On the other hand', they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas feels abrupt. For instance, the jump from discussing 'electronic things' to 'yoga' lacks a smooth connection. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument consistently throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'electronic things' and 'games', which lack the precision required for a higher band score. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'mostly natives' (which is unclear) and 'attacks on the mental health'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to health and technology, such as 'digital devices', 'sedentary lifestyle', or 'psychological well-being'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'It cause mental stress' (subject-verb agreement), 'can be recover' (passive voice error), and 'electronic things like mobile and tv attacks on the mental health' (incorrect verb usage and article omission). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the ones attempted often contain errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and incomplete sentences. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
