Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as mentioning productivity loss and the use of meditation. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the link between AI in the workplace and sleep deprivation is a bit tenuous and could be more clearly explained. The suggestion of yoga and family time is relevant, but the explanation of how these specifically solve the problem of sleep deprivation remains somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed, logical explanations for your points rather than listing them briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central focus. There is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In this mean hours' or 'As, many different yoga positions'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow. Referencing is generally clear, but some sentences feel slightly disconnected due to the limited range of linking words used.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era', 'productivity', and 'hormonal balance'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'complete their sleep' (instead of 'get enough sleep'), 'loose their concentration' (should be 'lose'), and 'make irritated' (should be 'become irritated'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring you use the correct form of words in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Insufficient sleep make people', 'a person do not take'), incorrect verb forms ('do not able to complete', 'can has significant impact'), and missing articles. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 5.5 to 6.0 range. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that modal verbs are followed by the correct base form of the verb.
