Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the impact on concentration and the immune system, and the suggestions of government education and lifestyle changes are appropriate. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how sleep affects the 'food cycle' is vague and lacks clarity. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The response covers all requirements but remains at a general level of discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. There is a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The first and fore most issue', 'In addition', and 'Firstly', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'before it became worst'. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas. The paragraphing is appropriate for the task.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are some spelling errors (e.g., 'fore most', 'camping' instead of 'campaign', 'lazyness') and awkward collocations (e.g., 'get rid of it' is informal for this context). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, but there is little attempt to use less common or sophisticated lexical items. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct word forms and spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it affect its productivity', 'Physical activities plays') and article usage. Some sentences are slightly fragmented or lack grammatical precision, such as 'I spent my whole week with lazyness and unproductive'. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while focusing on accuracy would be beneficial.
