Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of these ideas is limited. The explanation of why people lack sleep is somewhat repetitive and lacks clarity, particularly in the sentence 'because everyone have enough time and they get up early'. The mention of 'ansomia' (insomnia) and stress is relevant, but the supporting example regarding a survey in Alberta is vague and lacks a clear connection to the broader argument. To improve, you should focus on providing more detailed, logical explanations for your points rather than listing general observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To justify' and 'To explain' are used in ways that do not naturally link the ideas. There are also issues with referencing; the transition between the problem and the solution is abrupt. While there is a basic logical progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of the sentence structures make the flow feel disjointed at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and often repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'proper' and 'big'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'difficuties', 'sechdule', 'ansomia', and 'fell' (instead of 'feel'). Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'work implement' and 'suffer from several disease'. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary and use it with greater precision. Focusing on collocations related to health and time management would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('everyone have', 'people life'), article usage, and sentence fragments. For instance, 'so that why the problem of sleep' is grammatically incorrect and hinders clarity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces placed before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar significantly impacts the overall quality of the writing.
