Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the consequences of sleep deprivation and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention health issues and productivity, the explanations remain superficial. For example, the claim that productivity reduces by 50% is a specific point, but it lacks a broader context or deeper analysis. The solutions provided, such as exercise and reducing screen time, are relevant but could be expanded with more detail on how these changes specifically impact sleep quality. To improve, aim to provide more depth to your arguments rather than listing several points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'To start with', 'Secondly', and 'In addition to it' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For instance, the sentence 'So now the question come that what can be a solution' is a bit informal and clunky. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'many others big corporation' which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'double edge sword', 'productivity', and 'sleep cycle'. However, there are several instances of incorrect word forms and spelling errors, such as 'detoriate' (deteriorate), 'enhalf' (enough), and 'triedness' (tiredness). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that you are using the correct word forms (e.g., nouns vs. adjectives) to convey your meaning more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'many does not have' (should be 'do not') and 'human gets enhalf sleep' (should be 'humans get enough sleep'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures will help improve your score.
