Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention 'mental growth' and 'eyesight' as effects, these points are not fully explored or supported with clear examples. The position is clear, but the explanation of the causes and solutions lacks depth and specific detail. To improve, ensure that each main idea is supported by a clear, logical explanation or a concrete example to demonstrate a more thorough understanding of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In the other words' (used twice) and 'In technical era'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by these awkward transitions. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Firstly' and 'The second cure', the overall flow is occasionally disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking phrases will help create a smoother, more professional progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or non-standard collocations, such as 'technical era' (likely meaning 'technological age'), 'causable effects', and 'forget up and downs'. You rely on basic vocabulary, and some phrases are repetitive. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology related to health and lifestyle, and ensure that your word choices are natural and contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everyone spend to more time'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'i will explains'), and missing articles or prepositions (e.g., 'difficulties to get'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will significantly improve your writing.
